About Us
Welcome to Teachers in the Word
Teachers in the Word exists to help women anchor their everyday lives in Scripture. We create simple, practical Bible studies and resources that meet you in the real world of teaching, parenting, and work. Every study is designed to help you open your Bible with confidence, understand what you read, and walk it out with courage.
Our heart is to build a community of women who love God’s Word and want to grow in it together, one passage at a time. Whether you’re studying with a group or reading before the school day begins, there’s room for you here.
Bonnie Marlowe - Founder/CEO
Bonnie grew up in rural Georgia, learning early life lessons while chasing cows and helping in her family’s greenhouses and florist shop. She now lives in North Carolina with her husband, Brett, and their daughter, affectionately called HG.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of West Georgia and a Master’s in Women’s Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Ten days after their wedding, Brett was diagnosed with leukemia, and their early marriage was shaped by hospital rooms, prayer, and a fierce dependence on God. Later, they walked through a long season of infertility before the gift of HG arrived. These chapters deepened Bonnie’s faith and shaped her calling to help women meet God in the middle of their hardest stories.
After years in the classroom, Bonnie now serves women full time as the founder of Teachers in the Word, writing Bible studies and creating resources that help women open Scripture with confidence and walk it out with courage.
She loves Brett, HG, teaching the Word, strong coffee, semi-crunchy living, Amazon boxes on the porch, and cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs.
Brett Marlowe - Content Editor
Brett is a South Carolina native and married Bonnie in 2019. Shortly after they were married, Brett was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. He underwent a bone marrow/stem cell transplant in 2020 and is now considered to be in full molecular remission. Brett holds a Master of Divinity degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Brett loves Bonnie and enjoys hunting, golfing, reading, Amateur Radio, and watching Braves baseball and SC Gamecocks football.
Nancy Hunter
Affectionately known in the community as “Mama Hunter,” Nancy is Bonnie’s mom and a trusted advisor for Teachers in the Word. She has been married to her husband, Richard, for 54 years and has owned and operated a florist in Franklin, Georgia, for more than 35 years.
Nancy manages the TITW Facebook Group and supports product distribution, launches, and community engagement.
Bethany Fleming
Bethany was born and raised in a small town in Virginia and studied Communications and Women’s Ministry at Liberty University. She teaches middle and high school English and Bible, and while she loves a well-placed comma, Scripture will always have her heart.
Bethany served as a contributing author on the first five Teachers in the Word Bible studies, and her work helped shape the early foundation of this ministry.
